Donation Transparency

Pricing

A transparency platform should be transparent about its own price. Here is the whole thing, no fine print required.

The one-sentence version

Your organization pays $0. Donors cover a 1.5% platform fee ($1.29 minimum) plus card processing, with an optional tip.

What the organization pays

Nothing. No subscription, no setup fee, no contract, no percentage of funds raised. Donations go directly to your own Stripe account.

What the donor pays

On top of their donation, donors cover:

  • A platform fee of $1.29 or 1.5%, whichever is greater.
  • Card processing (Stripe's standard rate, 2.9% + $0.30).
  • An optional tip to support the platform. Entirely up to them.

Because of the $1.29 minimum, small gifts carry a higher effective rate: on a $20 donation the platform fee works out to about 6.5%, not 1.5%. The break-even point is $86; above that, the 1.5% rate applies.

Worked examples

DonationPlatform feeDonor pays (before card processing)
$20$1.29 (minimum applies)$21.29
$100$1.50 (1.5% applies)$101.50
$500$7.50 (1.5% applies)$507.50

How do we make money?

From the donor-side platform fee and optional tips. That is the whole business model. We do not sell data, run ads, or take a cut of what your organization raises.
